US cut-length plate imports up 12.5 percent in June

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cut-length plate totaled 65,688 mt in June 2023, up 12.5 percent from May and up 67.6 percent from June 2022 levels. By value, cut-length plate imports totaled $79.6 million in June 2023, compared to $85.0 million in May and $60.6 million in June 2022.

The US imported the most cut-length plate from South Korea in June, with 35,992 mt, compared to 15,245 mt in May and 20,334 mt in June 2022. Other top sources of imported cut-length plate in June include Canada, with 15,359 mt; Australia, with 5,033 mt; Brazil, with 2,735 mt; and Japan, with 2,147 mt.
