US cut length plate exports up 5.8 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut length plate totaled 83,096 mt in June 2018, up 5.8 percent from May and down 15.6 percent from June 2017 levels. By value, cut length plate exports totaled $90.3 million in June, compared to $85.8 million in the previous month and $94.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut length plate to Canada in June with 42,650 mt, compared to 34,080 mt in May and 50,264 mt in June 2017. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 33,460 mt; and Sweden, with 1,600 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut length plate exports in June.
