US cut-length plate exports rise 18.8 percent in October

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 103,163 mt in October, up 18.8 percent from September and up 53.3 percent from October 2016 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $96.4 million in October, compared to $83.2 million in the previous month and $62.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Canada in October with 50,982 mt, compared to 46,892 mt in September and 28,271 mt in October 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 44,979 mt; China, with 2,426 mt; and Australia, with 1,727 mt.
