US cut-length plate exports down 17.9 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 86,509 mt in April 2023, down 17.9 percent from March but up 6.9 percent from April 2022. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $133.8 million in April, compared to $164.3 million in the previous month and $148.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in April with 50,622 mt, compared to 67,466 mt in March and 42,545 mt in April 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 30,304 mt; Singapore, with 2,405 mt; and Chile, with 1,086 mt.
