US CRC exports surge up 52.7 percent in May

US exports of cold rolled sheets totaled 78,283 mt in May, up 52.7 percent from April and up 71.7 percent from May 2016 levels. By value, CRC exports totaled $86.3 million in May, compared to $54.1 million in the previous month and $44.0 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most CRC to Canada in May with 50,008 mt, compared to 18,715 mt in April and 20,610 mt in May 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 27,060 mt. No other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) of US export CRC were recorded in May.
