US corrects final AD results of certain seamless pipes from China, places AD order

Based on affirmative final determinations by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the US International Trade Commission (USITC), the DOC announced on November 10 an antidumping (AD) order on certain seamless carbon and alloy steel standard, line, and pressure pipe from China, also correcting a calculation mistake in the final results.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, on September 21 the DOC announced in the Federal Register the final results of its antidumping (AD) duty and CVD administrative review for the subject merchandise.

The DOC said that, after evaluating an application made on September 27, 2010, by a petitioner in this case, namely United States Steel Corporation, it has determined the adjusted AD margin as follows:

- Exporter Tianjin Pipe International Economic and Trading Corporation / Producer Tianjin Pipe (Group) Corporation - 50.01 percent;

- Exporter Hengyang Steel Tube Group Int'l Trading Inc. / Producers Hengyang Valin Steel Tube Co., Ltd., and Hengyang Valin MPM Tube Co., Ltd - 82.24 percent;

- Exporter Xigang Seamless Steel Tube Co., Ltd. / Producers Xigang Seamless Steel Tube Co., Ltd., and Wuxi Seamless  Special Pipe Co., Ltd. - 66.13  percent;

- Exporter Jiangyin City Changjiang Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. / Producer Jiangyin City Changjiang Steel Pipe Co., Ltd - 66.13 percent;

- Exporter Pangang Group Chengdu Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. / Producer  Pangang Group Chengdu Iron & Steel Co., Ltd - 66.13 percent;

- Exporter Yangzhou Lontrin Steel Tube Co., Ltd. / Producer Yangzhou Lontrin Steel Tube Co., Ltd - 66.13 percent;

- Exporter Yangzhou Chengde Steel Tube Co., Ltd. / Producer Yangzhou Chengde Steel Tube Co., Ltd - 66.13 percent;

- China-wide rate - 98.74 percent.
