Ukrainian steel product exports down 31.8 percent in January

According to the data released by metal trading enterprise Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK), in January of the current year Ukraine exported 1.5 million mt of steel products, down 31.8 percent year on year, worth a total of $690 million, down 39.5 percent year on year.

In particular, in the given month Ukraine exported 1.25 million mt of rolled metal (including 600,000 mt of semi-finished products), down 33 percent, 130,000 mt of pig iron, down 34 percent, and 80,000 mt of ferroalloys, up 20 percent, all on year-on-year basis.

In January this year, Ukrainian imports of steel products decreased by 61.5 percent year on year to 50,000 mt, worth a total of $46 million, down 60.3 percent year on year.
