Ukraine’s crude steel output down 23.6 percent in January-August

In the January-August period of the current year, Ukraine's crude steel output decreased by 23.6 percent to 15.04 million mt, its pig iron output fell 23.3 percent to 13.96 million mt and its finished steel production decreased by 23.9 percent to 13.2 million mt, all year on year, according to the data issued by Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom.
 
In the same period, the country's metallurgical coke output declined by 30.4 percent year on year to 7.34 million mt, while steel pipe production decreased by 44.4 percent to 568,200 mt.
 
Meanwhile, in August alone, Ukraine produced 1.92 million mt of crude steel, 1.72 million mt of finished steel products, and 1.93 million mt of pig iron.
