Ukraine’s ferrous metal imports and exports rise in value in Jan-Feb

According to the data issued by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, in January-February this year Ukraine's exports of ferrous metals increased in value by 48.2 percent year on year to $2.682 billion, while its exports of ferrous metal products went up by about 2.1 times year on year to $449 million. The share of exports of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products in the country's overall January-February export structure amounted to 28.6 percent and 4.8 percent respectively.
 
Meanwhile, in January-February, Ukraine's imports of ferrous metals increased in value by 60.3 percent to $355.5 million, and its imports of ferrous metal products went up by 28.9 percent to $116.5 million, both compared to the same period last year. The share of imports of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products in the country's overall import structure amounted to 3.1 percent and one percent respectively.
