Ukraine to raise coal mining volumes

Ukrainian Coal Industry Minister Sergey Tulub announced that the country intends to raise coal mining output to 82 million metric tons in 2007 and 100 million metric tons in 2011. In 2006, the volume of coal mining output is estimated as 80 million metric tons. This step is directed toward the reduction of country's raw material dependence on Russian supplies.
