Ukraine raises steel consumption in Jan-July

According to preliminary information issued by the Ukrainian Association of Metal Traders, during the January-July 2007 period, the country increased its steel consumption by 39.6 percent year on year to 5.57 million metric tons.

In addition, during the period in question the share of the Ukrainian steel market occupied by imports increased by 28 percent to 16 percent or to 893,651 metric tons.
