Ukraine issues semi-finished import and export data for November

In November this year, Ukraine's semi-finished steel product exports increased by 27.8 percent compared to October and by 33.2 percent compared to November 2009, to about1.05 million mt, valued at $574.3 million, up 31.5 percent month on month.

Ukraine's main semi-finished steel product export destinations in November were Italy (203,480 mt), Lebanon (185,400 mt), Iran (113,740 mt), South Korea (84,700 mt), Indonesia (71,620 mt), Turkey (71,030 mt), Great Britain (50,210 mt), Romania (45,860 mt), Egypt (32,130 mt) and Malaysia (30,430 mt).
 
In January-November this year, Ukraine's semi-finished steel product exports were almost at the levels of the same period last year, amounting to 10.588 million mt, valued at about $5 billion.

Meanwhile, in November 2010, Ukraine's semi-finished steel product imports saw a 6.2 percent decrease month on month and a 197 percent increase year on year to 46,690 mt. Of this volume, 43,360 mt came from Russia, 2,730 mt from Belarus, 300 mt from Italy, and 180 mt were imported from Germany.

Ukraine's expenditure on imports of semi-finished steel products in November was down by about three percent compared to October, decreasing to $31 million.

In January-November this year, Ukraine's imports of semi-finished steel products increased by 86 percent year on year to 429,300 mt, valued at $257 million.
