UK High Court orders liquidation of British Steel

On May 22, the UK High Court ordered British Steel Limited into compulsory liquidation.

The British government said that British Steel in liquidation is continuing to trade and supply its customers and that the staff will continue to be employed.

British Steel was seeking a £30 million emergency funding from the government to avoid bankruptcy.
