UAE-based construction company Modon has announced that it will procure green steel from the UAE’s largest steel producer and market leader, EMSTEEL, formerly known as Emirates Steel, in line with the country’s net-zero 2050 strategy.

With this collaboration, Mordon will become the first UAE-based real estate developer to use low-carbon steel in its construction projects, promoting sustainability and decarbonization of the construction industry, together with EMSTEEL.

Also, the green steel will be sourced from the MENA region’s first hydrogen-based pilot project, which was recently implemented by domestic renewable energy company Masdar and EMSTEEL.
