Two Salzgitter affiliates secure largest order in their corporate history

Germany-based steelmaker Salzgitter Group has announced that its affiliate companies Berg Steel Pipe Corp. and Berg Spiral Pipe Corp. have received an order from Dallas, US-based Energy Transfer Partners for the delivery of 435,000 metric tons of large diameter pipes for the ET Rover Pipeline Project.

Panama City-based Berg Steel Pipe Corp. and Mobile, Alabama, US-based Berg Spiral Pipe Corp. are subsidiaries of EUROPIPE GmbH, located in Mülheim, Germany, a joint venture of Salzgitter AG and AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke.

The order volume for more than 1,000 km of spiral and longitudinally welded pipes has secured sound basic capacity utilization of the Mobile and Panama City works throughout the year 2015 and represents the largest single order in Berg's corporate history. In addition, EUROPIPE GmbH will be supplying a small volume of thick-walled large diameter pipes as part of this order.
