According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's total wire rod exports amounted to 104,299 metric tons, decreasing by 10.4 percent month on month and almost double compared to June 2011.
Meanwhile, the revenue generated by Turkey's wire rod exports in June totaled $67.6 million, decreasing by 12.9 percent compared to the previous month and doubling year on year.
On the other hand, in the first half of 2012 Turkey's wire rod exports stood at 611,518 metric tons, up 1.8 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $400 million, decreasing by 0.2 percent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
