Turkish wire rod exports down 27% in July from June

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year Turkey's total wire rod exports amounted to 76,065 metric tons, decreasing by 27 percent month on month and down 36.5 percent compared to July 2011. Wire rod exports to Africa rose significantly in the month in question.

Meanwhile, the revenue generated by Turkey's wire rod exports in July totaled $49.1 million, decreasing by 27.4 percent compared to the previous month and down 41.6 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in the first seven months of 2012 Turkey's wire rod exports stood at 687,373 metric tons, down 4.5 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $448.6 million, decreasing by 7.5 percent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
