Turkish wire rod exports increase in May

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkey's total wire rod exports amounted to 116,358 metric tons, increasing by 22.9 percent month on month and up 7.35 percent over May 2011.

Meanwhile, the revenue generated by Turkey's wire rod exports in May totaled $77.66 million, increasing by 24.9 percent compared to the previous month and up 8.2 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in the first five months of 2012 Turkey's wire rod exports stood at 507,414 metric tons, down 0.8 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $332.3 million, decreasing by 2.3 percent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
