Turkey’s stainless long steel imports up 3.1 percent in H1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's stainless long steel imports fell by 12 percent compared to the previous month and were slightly down by 0.4 percent compared to June 2011, amounting to 2,884 metric tons. The value of these imports was $11.8 million, decreasing by seven percent as compared to May this year and down 5.5 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the first half of the current year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports amounted to 18,055 metric tons, increasing 3.1 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2011.

In June this year, Turkey's stainless long steel imports from India amounted to 1,658 metric tons, increasing by 4.7 percent year on year.
