Turkish PPGI imports down by 5.8 percent in January-May

In May this year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports decreased by 18.6 percent year on year to 2,798 mt, while the revenue from these imports declined by 15.5 percent year on year to $3.69 million, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

In the first five months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports went down by 5.8 percent to 14,545 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $16.84 million, down 16.8 percent, both year on year.

In the given period, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 6,072 metric tons, up 117.89 percent year on year. China was followed by Italy and South Korea, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 2,735 metric tons and 1,960 metric tons respectively.
