Turkish home appliance output up 4.9 percent in May

Domestic sales in Turkey's home appliance market contracted slightly by 0.3 percent on year-on-year basis in May this year, totaling 565,660 units, according to the data released by the Turkish Home Appliance Industrialists Association (BESD). The country's home appliance sales in May increased 1.5 percent compared to April this year.
 
According to the BESD data, in May home appliance output in Turkey increased by 6.2 percent month on month and was up 4.9 percent year on year to 1,986,661 units. In May this year, Turkey's home appliance exports were down 1.7 percent to the same month of the previous year, amounting to 1,298,564 units, while Turkey's domestic appliance imports in May totaled 96,101 units, up 34 compared to May 2012.
