Turkish home appliance output up 3.3 percent in H1

Domestic sales in Turkey's home appliance market contracted by 6.2 percent on year-on-year basis in June this year, totaling 575,844 units, according to the data released by the Turkish Home Appliance Industrialists Association (BESD). The country's home appliance sales in the first half of the year increased 3.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to 3.2 million units.

According to the BESD data, in the first half of the year home appliance output in Turkey increased by 3.3 percent year on year to 10,646,105 units. In the first half, Turkey's home appliance exports were up 0.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to 7,495,934 units, while Turkey's domestic appliance imports in the first half totaled 613,131 units, up 41.4 percent compared to the first half of 2012.
