In May this year, the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 71.5 percent, up from 71.2 percent recorded in April, while the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 78.3 percent in May last year, according to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of Turkey.
Meanwhile, in May of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, was 61.8 percent, rising from 58.9 percent recorded in April and down from 71.3 percent in May last year.
The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 62.6 percent in May this year, increasing from 61.6 percent compared to the previous month and falling from 76.3 percent in the same month of 2019.
