In July this year, Turkey’s billet and bloom imports amounted to 453,113 metric tons, down by 9.7 percent compared to June and up by 73.4 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these imports totaled $222.26 million, decreasing by 9.5 percent compared to the previous month and by 53.7 percent year on year.
In the January-July period, Turkey's billet and bloom imports amounted to 2.52 million mt, up 61.6 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 41.1 percent to $1.26 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest billet and bloom import source was Malaysia, which supplied 687,262 mt, up 224.5 percent year on year. Malaysia was followed by Russia with 565,150 mt, up 75.8 percent, and China with 379,458 mt.
