In February this year, Turkey’s billet and bloom imports amounted to 429,681 metric tons, up by 45.9 percent compared to January and by 92.7 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these imports totaled $209.26 million, increasing by 42.2 percent compared to the previous month and by 74.9 percent year on year.
In the January-February period, Turkey's billet and bloom imports amounted to 724,162 mt, up 24.8 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 17.4 percent to $356.39 million, both year on year.
