Turkey’s steel export value up 5.9 percent in November

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM), in November this year Turkey's steel exports totaled $1.2 billion in value, increasing by 5.9 percent year on year but down 8.77 percent as compared to the previous month.
 
In November this year, of Turkey's industrial sectors, the steel sector recorded the fourth highest export value, while the motor vehicle sector had the highest export value with $1.76 billion, increasing by 9.9 percent compared to November 2011.
 
On the other hand, in the first 11 months of this year Turkey's steel export value came to $14.3 billion, rising by three percent year on year.
 
TIM president Mehmet Büyükekşi said at a press meeting that Turkey's overall export performance was positive in November in line with the partial recovery in the EU and the continuous achievements in alternative markets.
