The Turkey PMI™ Manufacturing Index, issued by Istanbul Chamber of Industry and Markit, was at 46.4 points in February this year, up from January’s 44.2 points. Any figure greater than 50 indicates an overall improvement of the sector. The PMI in February was the highest in the last six months.

The latest PMI data showed that the slowdown in operating conditions was the mildest in February in the last six months. In parallel, the contraction in production was less dramatic compared to January. The increase in new orders from export markets supported overall new orders.
