Last year, Turkey's iron ore imports amounted to 8.11 million mt, increasing by 3.47 percent, with a value of $1.16 billion, up 0.94 percent, both year on year, according to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
On the other hand, in December last year Turkey's iron ore imports totaled 930,215 metric tons, increasing by 104.70 percent compared to November and up 0.50 year on year, while the value of these imports amounted to $135.80 million, up 117.13 percent month on month and up 9.62 percent year on year.
In the whole of the last year, Turkey's iron ore imports from Brazil decreased by 39.69 percent year on year to 2.76 million mt, while its iron ore imports from Ukraine in the given period almost tripled on year-on-year basis to 1.89 million mt.
