Turkey's HRC imports up three percent in January-November

In November last year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports decreased by 33.5 percent year on year to 231,196 metric tons, down 5.4 percent compared to October, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $97.2 million, falling by 3.8 percent month on month and down 18.7 percent year on year.

In the first 11 months of last year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 3.33 million mt, rising by three percent, while the value of these imports decreased by 12.6 percent to $1.2 billion, both compared to the same period of the previous year.
 
In the January-November period of last year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 1,395,375 mt, up 0.61 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, followed by France which shipped 287,448 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
