In August this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 54.1 percent year on year to 113,451 metric tons, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $48.9 million, up 9.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the first eight months of the current year, Turkish hot rolled coil exports amounted to 919,651 mt, up 8.5 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 15.7 percent to $414.87 million, both year on year.
In the January-August period, the US ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, reducing its HRC imports from Turkey by 15.51 percent year on year to 200,396 mt, while the US was followed by Italy which received 187,491 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period.
