Turkey’s HR coil exports to EU down 71.5% in Jan-Sept

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year Turkey's total hot rolled coil exports amounted to 38,555 metric tons, increasing by 22.5 percent compared to the previous month and down 29.3 percent compared to September 2011. Turkey's hot rolled coil exports had been falling on month-on-month basis in the three months from May to July this year, before two months of uptrend in August and September.

Meanwhile, Turkey's hot rolled plate exports, which have been falling on month-on-month basis since May this year, amounted to 6,640 mt in September, falling by 41.3 percent compared to August and down 13.9 percent year on year. In September, hot rolled sheet exports from Turkey totaled 7,757 mt, down 15.2 percent compared to the previous month and almost half compared to the same month of 2011.

Turkey's hot rolled coil exports in the first three quarters of the current year totaled 439,451 mt, decreasing by 66 percent, while its hot rolled plate exports rose 72.75 percent to 157,506 mt, both compared to the same period of 2011. On the other hand, Turkey increased its hot rolled sheet exports by 10.2 percent in the first nine months of the year, to 87,321 mt.


Turkish HR coil exports to the European Union in the first nine months of the year, amounted to 323,409 mt, decreasing by 71.5 year on year.
