Turkey’s crude steel output increases by 7.6 percent in January

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in January this year increased by 7.6 percent year on year to 3.17 million mt. In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 11.5 percent, while production by integrated plants moved up by 0.2 percent, both month on month.

During the given month, Turkey's billet output increased by 9.5 percent to 2.19 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 3.6 percent to 989,000 metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
