Turkey’s crude steel output down 19.5 percent in January

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in January this year decreased by 11.1 percent month on month and was down by 19.5 percent year on year to 2.56 million mt.

In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces fell by 26.5 percent, while production by integrated plants declined by 4.7 percent, both year on year.

In January, Turkey's billet output decreased by 31 percent to 1.5 million mt, while its slab output rose by six percent to 1.05 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.
