In December last year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports decreased by 12.7 percent month on month to 68,147 mt as compared to the previous month and were up 25.6 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $45.47 million, decreasing by 8.3 percent month on month and up 70 percent year on year.
In 2017, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 915,199 mt, up 18.5 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 52.7 percent to $533.54 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 390,845 mt, up 14.21 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine totaled 121,313 mt, falling by 11.77 percent compared to 2016.
