Turkey's coking coal imports up 43 percent in Q1

In March this year, Turkey's coking coal imports totaled 582,322 mt, rising by 212 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $49.6 million, up 130 percent year on year.

In the first quarter, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 43 percent to 1.34 million mt, while the value of these imports increased by 10 percent to $123.2 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 639,144 mt, while coking coal imports from Canada totaled 425,020 mt.
