In October this year, Turkey's coking coal imports totaled 451,416 mt, down 31.1 percent month on month and falling by 2.43 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $45.64 million, down 34.4 percent compared to September and down 16.7 percent year on year.
In the first ten months of this year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 2.3 percent to 4.46 million metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $487.7 million, down 17.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the January-October period this year, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia increased from 239,094 mt to 1,884,987 mt, while coking coal imports from the US decreased by 53.87 percent to 1,527,095 mt, both year on year.
