In June this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 45 percent month on month to 225,208 mt, down 44 percent year on year according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports decreased by 47.3 percent to $33.9 million compared to the previous month and rising by 2.23 percent year on year.
In the first half of the current year, Turkey's coking coal imports remained stable at 2.6 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $492.26 million, up 114.5 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from the US amounted to 1,004,290 mt, while coking coal imports from Australia totaled 730,085 mt.
