Turkey’s basic metals turnover index down 7.1% in Jan from Dec

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in January this year increased by 6.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and was down by 11.6 percent from December 2012.

In January, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey decreased by 1.4 percent year on year and registered a 7.1 percent decrease from the previous month. In the given month, the industrial turnover index for fabricated metal product manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, was stable year on year and fell by 19.5 percent from the previous month.
