Turkey’s basic metals turnover index up 3.9% in Feb over Jan

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in February this year increased by 4.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and was up 0.1 percent month on month, following the 11.6 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in January.

In February, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey decreased by 1.3 percent year on year and registered a 3.9 percent rise over the previous month, after a fall of 7.1 percent in January compared to December 2012. In February, the industrial turnover index for fabricated metal product manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, increased 9.7 percent year on year and rose by 1.1 percent over the previous month, following a 19.5 percent decrease in January compared to December.
