According to a statement published in the country’s Official Gazette, Turkey has launched an antidumping investigation on cold rolled steel, galvanized and painted coils from China and South Korea. The investigation covers the period between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.
The investigation was started upon the application made by the Cold Rolled Galvanized and Painted Coil Producers Association on behalf of local producers. In the light of the evidence submitted during the application period and the findings presented based on the data in the trade ministry’s database on imports, it has been determined that allegedly dumped products from the given countries caused financial damage in the domestic market.
In 2023, Turkey imported 327,407 mt and 189,931 mt of cold rolled coil from South Korea and China respectively, while South Korea and China exported 239,727 mt and 58,832 mt of galvanized coil; and 7,228 mt and 17,346 mt of painted coil to Turkey in the given year.
