Turkish rebar producer İzmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. (İDÇ) has announced its financial and operational results for the first quarter this year.
Accordingly, in the given quarter the company registered a net loss of TRY 705.42 million ($15.53 million), compared to a net loss of TRY 925.21 million in the first quarter of 2025, while its sales revenues fell by 16.9 percent year on year to TRY 14.46 billion ($318.25 million). İDÇ also reported an operating loss of TRY 596.43 million ($12.13 million), compared to an operating profit of TRY 497.41 million in the same period of the previous year.
In the first three months of the current year, the company’s steel billet output decreased by seven percent to 511,634 mt, while its rebar production totaled 253,400 mt, dropping by three percent, both year on year. Besides, 96,666 mt of rebar was also produced by the company’s contractual partners in the given period, with a year-on-year decrease of six percent. In the given period, it produced 68,497 mt of steel sections, down by 15.0 percent year on year.
In the first quarter, İDÇ’s finished steel sales moved down by 13.0 percent to 386,607 mt, while its export sales advanced by 172.0 percent to 143,484 mt, both year on year.
