Following the removal of a 400 m3 blast furnace in June, Hebei Province-based Tangshan Iron & Steel Group Co. Ltd. (TISCO) has now also torn down two 450 m3 blast furnaces and their auxiliary facilities. As a result, to date TISCO has eliminated all its blast furnaces in the range of 400-500 m3.

Since they started production on June 27, 2003 and May 27, 2004 respectively, the two 450 m3 blast furnaces in question have produced a total of 5.74 million mt of molten iron at an average utilization coefficient of 3.7, 0.2 higher than planned.
