Tiancheng Stainless Steel commissions phase one of CR project

The first phase of the stainless steel cold rolled deep-processing project, i.e., a 1,450 mm cold rolled wide strip production line, of Guanghan, Sichuan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Tiancheng Stainless Steel Co., a subsidiary of Sichuan Province-based Chinese stainless steel producer Jinguang Group, was put into production on November 28, as announced by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Co. (MCC) on November 29. MCC subsidiaries BERIS Engineering and Research Corporation and MCC TianGong Group Corporation Limited (CTMCC) were responsible for the construction and installation work.
 
The production line in question will be able to produce 200,000 mt of cold rolled stainless steel strip per year, in thicknesses of 0.2-1.2 mm and widths of 800-1,300 mm. Austria-based Siemens VAI Metals Technologies supplied the annealing and pickling facilities.
 
The overall project was launched in May 2011, With completion of the second phase, which will add a further annual output capacity of 200,000 mt of cold rolled stainless steel,  Tiancheng Stainless Steel will be the largest stainless steel deep-processing enterprise in southwestern China.
