Germany-based plantmaker SMS Group has announced that it will supply a new coil trimming line to China-based Fujian Fuxin Special Steel (FUXIN), a part of Taiwanese conglomerate Formosa Plastics Group, for production of stainless steel strip.
According to SMS, the new line is to be constructed in the Fujian province of China and scheduled to start production in 2020. It will enable FUXIN to process 150,000 mt of cold strip annually. The material will mainly be used for applications in the home appliances, elevator or construction industries.
The line will process strips up to 1,350 mm wide and between 0.2 mm and 3.0 mm thick. The product range will comprise stainless steel of the 200, 300 and 400 series.
