Germany-based steelmaker Thyssenkrupp has announced that its subsidiary Thyssenkrupp Nucera will supply 20 MW electrolyzers for a North American project for green hydrogen production. The company did not to disclose further details of the contract.

“With this instrument, we can support our customers in realizing their expansion plans in the fast-growing green hydrogen market. In North America, the hydrogen economy is picking up speed and will certainly set the global pace in the coming years,” Christoph Noeres, head of Green Hydrogen at Thyssenkrupp Nucera, said.

Meanwhile, Thyssenkrupp Nucera will also supply 20 MW electrolyzers to Sweden-based H2 Green Steel for the first large-scale green steel plant in Europe, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
