Monday, 16 December 2024 11:11:28 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

German steelmaker Thyssenkrupp Steel has announced that it has commissioned a modernized walking beam furnace at the hot strip mill No. 1 in Duisburg Bruckhausen. The furnace was overhauled by Italy-based Tenova, a Techint Group company specialized in innovative solutions for the metals and mining industries, with a total investment in the low double-digit million euro range.

The upgraded furnace will ensure increased quality, especially for electrical steel production, and energy efficiency. The improved quality will be achieved due to a more homogeneous temperature distribution along the entire length of the slab.
