Tenova to expand SUEK’s coal export terminal at Russian port of Vanino

The Italy-based equipment producer Tenova has announced that its subsidiary Tenova TAKRAF has signed a contract with Russian coal producer Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) for the expansion of its coal export terminal at the Russian Far East port of Vanino.
 
The contract comprises the expansion of the terminal's storage capacity by 230,000 mt. The new equipment will have an operating capacity of 4,300 mt/h. In addition, existing equipment at the terminal is also to be upgraded to operate at a capacity of 4,300 mt/h in the future.
 
With the coal export terminal upgrade and expansion, SUEK expects an increase of Vanino's annual handling capacity from the current 12 million mt up to 24 million mt. The new equipment is planned to be commissioned in 2012-2013.
