Tenaris has inaugurated a new pipe mill at its TuboCaribe facility in Cartegena, Colombia, the company said this week.

Investments in the expansion project will reach $240 million, including new threading and finishing lines, as well as new heat treatment equipment.

The mill is located in a 60 hectares area and manufactures pipes for the oil and gas industry, the company said. The plant’s total capacity is 250,000 mt/year. Colombia’s president, Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, and Paolo Rocca, president at Tenaris, joined the plant start-up last week.
