Tata Steel Europe, a subsidiary of India's Tata Steel, has announced that it will supply 25,000 mt of high-quality profiled steel plate to Siemens Wind Power for wind towers.

The steel plates Tata Steel will deliver between April and September this year will be used to build about 150 onshore wind turbine towers.

The steel plate will be manufactured at Tata Steel's plate mills in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, England, and in Dalzell, Motherwell, Scotland, before being cut to size and edge-profiled at the company's wind tower hub located in Scunthorpe.
