Tata Steel Europe, a subsidiary of India's Tata Steel, has announced that it has opened a new steel distribution center in Teesside, UK to provide a faster and more efficient service for the construction industry.

The new facility, established with an investment of £3.1 million, is located on the company's Lackenby site, adjacent to its Teesside beam mill. The new steel center will be responsible for the distribution of 100,000 mt per year of the company's construction steel stock from the Teesside beam mill, the sections mill in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, and Tata Steel's tubes mills in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Tata Steel also stated that the new facility will reduce the company's impact on the environment and reduce its transport costs.
